RR Future Function: Activities Dashboard

The following is "Future Function" we are exploring for the addition to the Red Rover system. As always, your thoughts are welcome!

Future Function

Advisors would be able to connect to their advisees and see who has joined what and what they are participating in.

This "dashboard" would give them real time to data and help them focus their attention on the students that need it most. (This is a recommendation of the DEEP project, but currently it is pretty difficult to implement without real time involvement info.)

Uses

1. Allows advisors to tailor their advising using the web based system. They can offer specific feedback and reflection around groups or communication for the group (by navigating to the groups the student has joined and the communication record of the groups, they can discuss learnings with the student.)

2. Benchmarking of participation and opt ins can be used as a feedback instrument to foster discussion between advisor and advisee about engagement and involvement.

Challenges

1. Primary challenge will getting advisors to use a new system. Changing a habit is never easy . . .
